Eastern Health provides acute health, aged care, rehabilitation, community health and mental health services principally from the main campuses at Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Healesville & District Hospital, Maroondah Hospital and Peter James Centre. Eastern Health provides high quality, accessible health care services that are responsive to the needs of the community. Eastern Health is the main provider of health services to patients who reside in the east, outer east and Yarra Ranges areas for greater metropolitan Melbourne.
Northern Health provides quality health care services to the expanding communities in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. In one of Melbourne’s busiest growth corridors, Northern Health offers the community health care services where they are needed – close to where people live. Northern Health’s campuses - Broadmeadows Health Service, Craigieburn Health Service, The Northern Hospital and Bundoora Extended Care Centre provide a unique mix of services in medical, surgical, emergency, intensive and coronary care, paediatrics, women’s and maternal health, mental health, aged care, palliative care and rehabilitation programs. These are provided through inpatient, ambulatory and community-based programs.
Mercy Hospital for Women
Mercy Hospital for Women (MHW) is a leading tertiary women’s hospital caring for women, babies and families. MHW is a Level 3 specialist teaching hospital accredited in obstetrics, gynaecology, gynaecological oncology, neonatology and anaesthetics and is affiliated with The University of Melbourne’s Medical School and La Trobe University’s School of Nursing and Midwifery. The MHW oncology unit provides multidisciplinary specialist treatment and care to women with gynaecological cancers. Based in Heidelberg, only 12 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Mercy Hospital for Women provides public and private care.
Austin Health is comprised of Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. Austin Health is a major teaching and research centre with numerous university and research institute affiliations. Catering to diverse multicultural and veteran communities, Austin Health delivers vital state-wide services to Victorians as well as a vast array of specialty services to the people of Melbourne’s north-eastern corridor in a quality and safety-focused environment.
Austin Health is one of the largest cancer care providers in Victoria, delivering a complete range of services to patients and their families. Services include; medical oncology, clinical haematology, radiation oncology, cancer genetics, palliative medicine, wellness and supportive care programs, an active volunteer program and specialist cancer surgery. These services are all provided in an environment that integrates research, teaching and training.
The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre brings together cancer services at Austin Health to form a comprehensive cancer centre. The centre includes a dedicated Wellness Centre and Cancer Information Lounge.
