Wellness and recovery after cancer

Most people enjoy good quality of life following cancer treatment but many experience challenges with transition from treatment and some experience longer term health impacts. NEMICS health services are working to better support people after they complete hospital-based intensive treatment.

A question of language

Cancer survivorship means different things to different people.  Where the term 'survivor' is used in reports here it is used  to refer to the health and wellbeing of people who have completed cancer treatment with the aim of remission or cure.  NEMICS acknowledges that  wellness and rehabilitation models of care are equally applicable to people living with advanced cancer.
