Supportive Care

Supportive care is an umbrella term used to refer to services which may be required by those affected by cancer. People living with cancer can face a range of physical, psychological, social, informational and existential needs. A range of supportive care services are available to assist with these needs, and are provided by a range of hospital and community health providers, including volunteer and self-help, services.

Supportive care vision of NEMICS is to enable health services and clinicians to develop and implement best practice supportive care models for people affected by cancer, so that consumers can identify what they need at different points in their journey and access assistance in a timely way regardless of where they present in the northeast region of Melbourne.  Read our Supportive Care Strategic Statement and Supportive Care Network FAQ
